Lions Club Spaghetti Night Fundraiser

The Lions Clubs of the greater Snohomish and King counties will host a spaghetti night fundraiser for Strong Cares Guild.

Dinner will be on Sunday November 10th, 2019,  from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, at Shawn O’Donnell’s, 122 128th St. SW, Everett.

Strong Cares Guild fundraises for childhood cancer research and financial aid for Seattle Children’s Hospital families.

Tickets are $15 per person or $7.50 for children under 12.

There will also be a raffle for some great prizes from local companies. 100% of profits will be donated directly to the Guild thanks to Shawn O’Donnell’s generous donation.

467 Hygiene Kits for the Homeless were delivered to the Volunteers of America in Everett yesterday thanks to the Lions of District 19-B!   368 of these were in used eyeglass cases that were cleaned up and filled with hygiene items such as combs, band-aids, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo and more.  99 kits were in baggies with larger items gathered from hotel samples.   We will have another work party in July to create more of these Hygiene Kits.

We successfully created over 680 Hygiene Kits for the homeless at the District 19-B Conference on May 5th from used eyeglass Cases!  Thank you to all of the Lions who chipped in to make this project a huge success!  Eyeglass cases were delivered to the Volunteers of America in Everett to be handed out to those in need all over the region.

We will have another work party soon to continue this worthwhile project!  Thank you all!

using all those eyeglass cases that we collect when we gather used eyeglasses.  We will have a work party at the District 19-B Convention on May 5th at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bothell to assemble the kits.  They will then be distributed to the public at the Project Homeless Connect in Everett in July.  We hope to make at least 1,000 of these kits.

You can help by gathering some of the items we need to fill the kits.  You may have some of these items in your linen closet at home right now!

Here are some of the items we need:

Child-sized toothbrush (The Dollar Store has these at 3 for $1)

Small sample sized toothpaste (Ask your dentist!  Ours donated 2 large boxes!!)

Small soap (like hotel give-aways)

Small shampoo (like hotel give-aways)

Individually wrapped wet wipes (can get these at KFC or Ivars)

Emery Boards (The Dollar Store has these at a good price)

Small ball-point pen (Need a good resource for these)

Small dental floss (Dentist?)

Small hand sanitizer

Small deodorant / antiperspirant (individual packets)

Small tissues or razors

Note that some of the items near the end of the list are optional and we will fit them in only if we can.  We will also accept cash donations made out to Lions District B to help us purchase these items at the best price we can find.
