19-B Open Door Project

District 19B has created a unique public relations / new member recruiting campaign called the Lions “ OPEN DOOR PROJECT”. The project encourages members to visit local businesses to place a service animals welcome decal on their front door or near by….. “Does your business allow service animals in your store?…. Can I put this decal on your front door?” Discuss Lions with the manager… “Are you familiar with Lions Clubs?…..Would you or an employee be interested in attending one of our meetings?” Leave a Lions brochure behind.

The “OPEN DOOR PROJECT” has three goals:

First, to provide Lions the opportunity to meet local business people and business people the opportunity to know Lions.

Second, to make sure people with service animals are made to feel welcome in local businesses.

Third, to create a Lions presence in the community and provide a Lions contact phone number and website address to obtain more information.

The 5 ˝” X 2 ˝" decals are printed in blue with a yellow background. The sticky side of the decal is on the front side so the decal can be placed on the inside of the door to help protect the decal from the elements.

The decals for 19B carry a District phone number that directs callers to a recording. The website is that of District 19B.

Clubs are being asked to report their successes with the project to the District 19B Cabinet. For more information about the “Open Door Project” contact PZC Art Ruben (Everett Central).
